Project summary:
- Determine in detail the physical, chemical, and radioactive form of radium presence on cartridge filters.
- Do experimental tests to find the best conditions for:
- -efficient radium removal from these filters
- -best acceptable solid radium compound form for safe disposal.
- Design and build a reliable and safe practical decontamination unit to reduce NORM size and convert removed radium in solid salt form.
- Contain the resultant minimized NORM to the client.
